1. Introduction

Axiom AI LLC (d/b/a Divorce Portal) ("we," "us," or "our"), a Virginia limited liability company, respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding that data.

This policy applies to all users of divorce-portal.com and the Divorce Portal platform, including our AI-powered document generation services.

By using Divorce Portal, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a bcrypt hash — we never store your password in plain text). If you are an attorney, we may also collect your bar number, firm name, and jurisdiction.

2.2 Case Data

To generate divorce documents, we collect information you provide about your case, including: names of parties, dates of birth, marriage date, children's information, custody preferences, property and asset details, debt information, and other case-specific data. This information is used solely to generate your documents and provide our services.

2.3 Sensitive Personal Information

For certain calculations and document preparation, we may collect Social Security Numbers (SSNs), employer identification numbers, and financial account identifiers. All SSNs and sensitive identifiers are encrypted with AES-256 encryption at rest and are only decrypted when necessary for document generation.

2.4 Financial Information

For support calculations (child support, spousal support), we collect income information, employment details, tax data, and other financial information you provide. This data is used for calculations only and is protected with encryption.

Payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses) is collected and processed directly by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details on our servers. We receive only a payment confirmation and Stripe customer ID.

2.5 Usage Data

We collect basic usage data including pages visited, features used, session duration, device/browser information, and IP address. This helps us improve the platform and diagnose technical issues.

2.6 Communications

If you contact our support team, we retain the content of your communications to provide assistance and improve our services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

• Document generation — Your case data is processed by our AI systems to create divorce documents tailored to your situation and state
• AI processing — Case data is sent to OpenAI (GPT-4o) and Anthropic (Claude) APIs for intelligent document generation (see Section 4)
• Support calculations — Financial data is used to compute child support, spousal support, and equitable distribution estimates
• Payment processing — Account and billing information is shared with Stripe to process your payments
• Email communications — We use Resend to send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, document-ready notifications, security alerts)
• Service improvement — Aggregated, de-identified usage data helps us identify issues and improve the platform
• Security — We use your information to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
• Legal compliance — We may use your information as required by law, regulation, or legal process

4. AI Data Processing

This section is critical to understand. Divorce Portal uses artificial intelligence to generate documents. Here is exactly how your data interacts with AI systems:

4.1 OpenAI (GPT-4o)

Your case data is sent to OpenAI's API for document generation and legal analysis. We use the API tier where OpenAI does not use your data to train their models. Data sent to OpenAI is subject to their API Data Usage Policy, which states that API data is not used for training.

4.2 Anthropic (Claude)

Your case data may also be sent to Anthropic's API for document generation. Anthropic's commercial API terms state that they do not train on API inputs. Data is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

4.3 What Data Is Sent to AI Providers

We send case-relevant information necessary for document generation, which may include names, dates, financial figures, custody preferences, and state-specific legal context. We minimize the data sent to only what is necessary for the specific document being generated.

4.4 What We Do NOT Do

• We do not use your personal data to train any AI models
• We do not share your data with AI providers for any purpose other than generating your documents
• We do not use your case data for marketing, advertising, or profiling
• We do not aggregate your identifiable case data with other users' data

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party services, strictly as needed to operate the platform:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Ever.

6. Data Security

We protect your data with multiple layers of security:

• Encryption at rest — SSNs and sensitive identifiers are encrypted with AES-256. Database is hosted on encrypted storage.
• Encryption in transit — All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2+/HTTPS
• Password hashing — Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text
• Role-based access control — Access to data is restricted based on user roles (divorcee, attorney, admin)
• Infrastructure security — Our servers are hosted on secured infrastructure with firewall protection, regular security updates, and monitoring
• JWT authentication — Sessions are managed with signed JSON Web Tokens with expiration

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but will notify you of any breach as described in Section 11.

7. Data Retention

• Case data: Retained for 90 days after session/case completion, then permanently deleted from our systems and backups
• Account information: Retained as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure.
• Payment records: Transaction records retained for 7 years as required for tax and legal compliance
• Usage logs: Retained for 90 days for security and debugging purposes
• Support communications: Retained for 1 year after resolution

You may request immediate deletion of your case data at any time by contacting support@divorce-portal.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

Regardless of where you reside, you have the following rights:

• Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — Request correction of inaccurate personal data
• Deletion — Request deletion of your personal data and case information
• Portability — Request an export of your data in a portable format (JSON or CSV)
• Restriction — Request that we limit processing of your data in certain circumstances
• Objection — Object to processing of your data for specific purposes
• Withdraw consent — Withdraw consent for data processing at any time (this does not affect prior processing)

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@divorce-portal.com. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days. Complex requests may take up to 45 days with notice.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

• Right to know — Request details about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the business purposes, and the third parties with whom we share it
• Right to delete — Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
• Right to correct — Request correction of inaccurate personal information
• Right to opt-out of sale/sharing — We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so this right is automatically satisfied
• Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — Request that we limit use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the service
• Right to non-discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

Categories of information collected: Identifiers (name, email, IP), financial information (income data for calculations), sensitive personal information (SSN when provided), internet activity (usage data), and professional information (for attorneys).

To exercise your CCPA/CPRA rights, contact us at support@divorce-portal.com. We will verify your identity before processing your request. You may also designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf.

10. Other State Privacy Rights

Residents of Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and port their data. The rights described in Section 8 apply to all users regardless of state.

If you believe we have not adequately addressed your privacy concerns, you have the right to appeal our decision by contacting us, and you may also lodge a complaint with your state's attorney general.

11. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will:

• Notify affected users by email within 72 hours of discovering the breach
• Provide details about what information was affected
• Describe the steps we are taking to address the breach
• Offer guidance on steps you can take to protect yourself
• Notify relevant regulatory authorities as required by applicable law

12. Children's Privacy

Divorce Portal is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected data from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly. 13. International Users

Divorce Portal is designed for users in the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, please be aware that your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States. We apply the same security and privacy protections to all user data regardless of origin.

14. Cookies and Local Storage

Divorce Portal uses minimal browser storage. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking cookies. For complete details, see our Cookie Policy.

15. Do Not Track

We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because we do not engage in cross-site tracking. We do not track users across third-party websites.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on our platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of Divorce Portal after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Platform and may request deletion of your data.
