We aim to be transparent about what we store in your browser and why. Divorce Portal uses minimal browser storage — we do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking.

2.1 JWT Authentication Token (localStorage)

When you log in, we store a JSON Web Token (JWT) in your browser's localStorage. This token keeps you signed in and authenticates your requests to our servers.

  • Duration: Until you log out or the token expires
  • Required: Yes — the platform cannot function without it

2.2 Cookie Consent Preference (localStorage)

We store your cookie consent preference in localStorage so we don't show you the consent banner on every visit.

  • Storage type: localStorage
  • Purpose: Remember your consent choice
  • Duration: Until you clear your browser data
  • Required: No — but the banner will reappear if removed

2.3 Stripe Cookies (Third-Party)

When you go through the Stripe checkout process to purchase a plan, Stripe may set cookies in your browser. These cookies are necessary for secure payment processing and fraud prevention.

  • Storage type: Third-party cookies (set by Stripe)
  • Purpose: Payment processing, fraud detection
  • Duration: Varies (managed by Stripe)
  • Required: Only during checkout

3. What We Do Not Use

Divorce Portal does not currently use:

  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
  • Advertising or retargeting cookies
  • Social media tracking pixels
  • Any third-party tracking cookies beyond Stripe

If we add analytics or other cookies in the future, we will update this policy and notify you before they are activated.

4. How to Manage Browser Storage

You can manage or clear browser storage at any time through your browser settings:

  • Clear localStorage:Open your browser's Developer Tools (F12), go to the Application or Storage tab, and clear localStorage for divorce-portal.com
  • Clear cookies:Go to your browser's privacy or cookie settings and remove cookies for divorce-portal.com and stripe.com
  • Block third-party cookies: Most browsers allow you to block third-party cookies in settings. Note that this may affect Stripe checkout functionality.

Please note that clearing your JWT token from localStorage will log you out of Divorce Portal.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we add new cookies or change how we use browser storage. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on our platform. Your continued use of Divorce Portal after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
