3. Free User Obligations
In exchange for free access, you agree to contribute to the platform's improvement by completing at least one of the following before the beta period ends:
Report a reproducible defect
Identify and report at least one bug that Divorce Portal can reproduce and fix. Reports must include steps to reproduce, expected behavior, and actual behavior. Use the in-app feedback button or email support@divorce-portal.com.
Suggest a feature that Divorce Portal accepts
Propose at least one software feature or improvement that the Divorce Portal team accepts for development. The feature does not need to be built during beta — only accepted onto the roadmap. Suggestions can be submitted via the feedback button or email.
Write a testimonial and grant permission to share
Provide a written testimonial about your experience with the platform and grant Divorce Portal the non-exclusive, perpetual right to publish it on the website, marketing materials, and social media. Testimonials may be attributed by first name and state, or anonymized at your request.
Note: Accounts that have not fulfilled at least one obligation by the end of the beta period will transition to a 7-day free trial of the applicable paid plan. You will receive at least 14 days advance notice before any charges apply.
4. Who Qualifies for Free Beta Access
NGO-referred clients — Individuals referred by a partner legal aid organization, domestic violence shelter, or nonprofit. Must register with a valid referral code.
NGO staff — Employees of partner organizations registering with their verified organization email address. Staff accounts remain free for the duration of the partnership term (12 months, renewable based on cooperation assessment).
Beta access is initially limited to 10 partner NGOs and is by invitation only. However, organizations not yet invited may request access by emailing support@divorce-portal.com from an official organization email address. Requests are accommodated in the order they are received as capacity allows.
5. What Happens After Beta
NGO-referred clients who fulfilled at least one obligation — Receive a permanent 25% discount on all plans as a thank-you for participating.
NGO-referred clients who did not fulfill any obligation — Transition to standard pricing with a 7-day free trial.
NGO staff — Retain free access for the duration of the partnership term (12 months, renewable; verified org email required).
The beta period begins on your registration date. Divorce Portal will announce the end of beta at least 30 days in advance via email and in-app notification. We estimate beta will last approximately 3 months but reserve the right to extend or shorten it.
7. Fair Use & Abuse Protection
Divorce Portal provides free beta access in good faith for legitimate personal use in preparing divorce documents. To protect the service for all users and manage operating costs, Divorce Portal reserves the right to revoke or suspend access if usage patterns indicate abuse, including but not limited to:
Excessive automated or scripted requests that consume disproportionate platform resources
Usage patterns inconsistent with genuine document preparation (e.g., bulk generation without meaningful case data, repeated identical requests, or stress-testing behavior)
Sharing account credentials or referral codes with unauthorized parties
Using the platform for competitive intelligence, benchmarking, or reverse engineering
Any activity that materially increases operating costs beyond what is reasonable for a single user preparing their own divorce documents
If abuse is suspected, Divorce Portal will attempt to notify you and provide an opportunity to explain before revoking access, except in cases of clear malicious intent where immediate suspension may be necessary.
